Story Of The Novel

The novel revolves around the Mirza family, a powerful yet emotionally divided household.

Sikandar Mirza divorces his wife mercilessly just because she gives birth to a daughter instead of a son. This shows his cruelty and becomes a painful beginning for the family’s story.

Alam Mirza, Sikandar’s elder brother, is completely different—kind and responsible. During a confrontation with enemies who try to abduct young Hale, Alam is shot but survives. To protect Hale’s honor and future, Alam announces her marriage (nikah) with his son Ruhan, a strong but emotionally distant man who always treated Hale like a younger sister.

Hale is a sweet, innocent, sixteen-year-old girl who fears Ruhan because of his strict and harsh attitude. But fate ties them together in marriage, a bond neither of them is ready to accept.

The Mirza family has many members:

Alam Mirza (elder son of Be Jaan, married to Faiza Begum; children: Zaryan, Ruhan, and Aiza).

Sikandar Mirza (estranged son, married against his family’s will, cut ties).

Sara (sister, married abroad, with two children Aashir and Neha).

Be Jaan (the grandmother, the emotional pillar of the family).

Conflicts rise:

Zaryan, the elder brother, lives in Karachi, handling international business. Handsome, magnetic, but with secrets of his own.

Ruhan, brave yet hot-tempered, protects the family and Hale but refuses to accept her as his wife.

Hale struggles to find her place, torn between childhood innocence and the forced responsibilities of being Ruhan’s bride.

On the other side, a parallel story runs of Ana and her mother Raima Begum. Ana is a hardworking, studious girl supporting her ill mother by teaching in a small school. Their quiet and struggling life is destined to collide with the Mirza family’s stormy world.

Love, betrayal, honor, revenge, and family bonds dominate the story. Secrets of the past (like Sikandar’s betrayal and Zaryan’s grudges) threaten to break the family apart, while new relationships (Hale and Ruhan, Ana and possibly Zaryan) struggle to survive in the midst of trials.

In short:

It is a family drama novel filled with emotions, tragedies, arranged relationships, hidden love, and generational conflicts. Hale and Ruhan’s forced marriage, Ana’s struggle, and Zaryan’s mysterious charm are the central pillars, while Be Jaan tries to hold the entire Mirza family together.

Sneak Peak

After the marriage, she had met him today.

She was wearing a blue kurti and white trousers, without a dupatta, and was trembling with her eyes closed. Her dark, deep eyes were closed at that time. Her eyelids were trembling. Her pink lips, which were hidden under her hands at that time, were hidden. She removed her hands. She was very beautiful. If there had been another man in her place, he would have been seduced. But here too, there was Rohan, who was not ready to accept her as his wife.

On her silence, Hale slowly opened her eyes. He was staring at her with sleepy eyes.

Leave Rohan, brother. He, who was already angry, said to her, "Bhai," and her temper increased even more. He admitted that he did not consider her his wife, but they were married, how could she call him "Bhai" even after the marriage?

In anger, he tightened his grip on her waist.

Hale felt his fingers sinking into her waist.

Don't say "Bhai" twice. I will put one under my ear and yours. Where is the dupatta? If I see you without a dupatta after today, I will kill you, wrap your body in a sack and throw it in the fields. Then the wild dogs will eat your body.

He had said this only to scare her, but

She, who was already trembling with fear, started crying loudly.

Seeing her crying, he placed his hand on her lips twice.

Shut up, don't make a sound. Don't come into this room after today, otherwise it will not be good. He growled in her ear and left her with a jerk.

She ran to her room as fast as she had come and took her breath. Now she had thought that even after death, she would not go to this executioner's room. He had even touched her bed. Just thinking about it, smoke started coming out of her ears.
